The Nissan GT-R, also known as ‘Godzilla’, is one of the world’s most iconic sports cars, renowned for its incredible performance, advanced technology and aggressive design. Originally launched in 2007 as the successor to the Nissan Skyline GT-R, it has built a reputation as a supercar killer, delivering exceptional speed and handling at a fraction of the cost of traditional European supercars.
Engine
The GT-R is powered by a 3.8-litre V6 twin-turbo engine, hand-built by a team of master technicians known as “Takumi”. Depending on the model year and variant, it produces between 565 hp and over 600 hp (in the Nismo variant).
Performance
0-100 km/h in approximately 2.7-3 seconds, depending on variant and conditions. Top speed is approximately 315 km/h. The all-wheel drive (AWD) system provides excellent traction, increasing the ability to corner and accelerate with minimal wheel spin.
Transmission
6-speed dual-clutch transmission with lightning-fast shifting. Manual mode with paddle shifters for a more engaging driving experience.
Technology
Advanced ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system. The adjustable Bilstein DampTronic suspension allows the driver to tailor the car’s handling for comfort or performance. The multifunction display, developed in collaboration with Polyphony Digital (the makers of the Gran Turismo game), shows essential information such as lap times, g-forces and real-time engine data.
Design
Aggressive, angular body styling with large intakes and aero components for optimum airflow and cooling. Distinctive round taillights, a tribute to previous GT-R generations.
Legacy
The GT-R has a cult following thanks to its success in motorsports and its presence in popular culture, particularly in video games and films such as the Fast & Furious franchise. It is known for its ability to challenge more expensive supercars such as the Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari 488 and Lamborghini Huracán.
Despite being on the market for over a decade with few major redesigns, the GT-R continues to evolve and remains a beloved performance car. Its mix of raw power, advanced technology and all-weather capability makes it a truly special vehicle. Jada has now released this supercar in 1:24 with Godzilla livery in honour of its nickname.
