Reynard Motorsport was a British motorsport engineering company known for designing and manufacturing race cars, primarily for Formula 1, IndyCar, and sports car racing. Reynard cars were widely recognized for their innovative designs and successes across various motorsport disciplines, particularly in open-wheel racing.

Founded in 1973 by Adrian Reynard, an engineer with a passion for motorsports. Reynard Motorsport quickly gained a reputation for producing high-performance race cars that excelled in various racing categories.

Reynard also built cars for sports car racing, including Le Mans and endurance racing. They produced the Reynard 92, which competed in Group C and IMSA sports car racing. While the company did not achieve the same level of dominance as in open-wheel racing, they contributed several innovative designs to the field.

Despite their early successes, Reynard Motorsport struggled financially in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The company eventually went into administration in 2002 due to mounting debts.

After Reynard Motorsport went bankrupt, the assets were purchased by Dallara, an Italian racing car manufacturer. Dallara, which is still one of the leading constructors in open-wheel racing today, took over Reynard’s intellectual property and some of its designs, further cementing their position in the motorsport world.

Reynard’s work in designing cars for various racing series helped shape the future of racing. Their chassis became a standard in many racing series, and the company was at the forefront of the development of safety features, aerodynamics, and engine placement.
