Vespa is a well-known Italian brand famous for its scooters. It’s synonymous with stylish, practical, and iconic motorized two-wheelers, and has a significant place in both motorcycle culture and Italian heritage.

Vespa was founded by Piaggio, an Italian manufacturer, in 1946. The name "Vespa" translates to "wasp" in Italian, which was inspired by the scooter’s shape – its compact body and the buzzing sound it made while running.

The first Vespa scooter was introduced in 1946, and its design was largely the work of Corradino D’Ascanio, an engineer who had previously designed helicopters.

The Vespa 98 was the first model, and it featured a lightweight frame, a small engine, and easy handling—all elements that made it popular among everyday people. Over the years, Vespa has continued to innovate, introducing new features and models to keep up with the demands of urban transportation and changing technology.

Piaggio, the parent company, has also expanded the Vespa brand into the electric scooter market with the introduction of the Vespa Elettrica, which combines modern green technology with the classic Vespa feel.
