Super Aguri F1 Team was a short-lived but notable Formula 1 team that participated in the sport during the 2006-2008 seasons. The team was based in Japan.

Founded Super Aguri was founded in 2006 by Aguri Suzuki, a former F1 driver and a well-known figure in Japanese motorsport. The team was essentially a rebranded version of the former Arrows F1 Team. The chassis and car design used by Super Aguri in their early years were based on the 2002 Arrows A23, which was adapted and re-engineered to meet modern F1 standards.

Super Aguri made their Formula 1 debut in 2006, entering with the SA06 car. The car was essentially a modified version of the 2002 Arrows A23.

In 2007, Super Aguri introduced a new car, the SA07, which was again based on Honda’s 2006 chassis. Despite this, the team still struggled with limited resources and lacked the performance to consistently compete with the top teams.

For the 2008 season, Super Aguri introduced the SA08, a new car again based on Honda's 2007 chassis, but with some modifications. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, the team was still far from competitive.

By 2008, Super Aguri’s financial issues became a significant problem. The team was struggling to meet the demands of Formula 1, with Honda (their engine supplier) threatening to pull out due to the team’s inability to secure enough funding.

Ultimately, Super Aguri was forced to shut down just before the 2008 Spanish Grand Prix. The team was sold to Honda (their former parent company), and Honda decided to withdraw from the 2008 season after completing only four races. This marked the end of Super Aguri’s brief existence in Formula 1.
