In 1897, Tatra produced its first automobile, the Präsident, a gasoline-powered vehicle. This marked the beginning of the company's involvement in the automobile industry. While Tatra is best known for its luxury and innovative passenger cars, it also played a significant role in military and heavy-duty vehicles. Tatra’s trucks, which were developed in the early 20th century, became renowned for their durability and off-road capabilities.
