Dallara is an Italian engineering company and manufacturer known primarily for designing and constructing race cars, particularly in the fields of open-wheel racing, sports car racing, and motorsports engineering. The company has a strong reputation for producing high-performance chassis and has worked with top-tier motorsport series, including Formula 1, IndyCar, Formula 3, LMP1, and GP2 (now Formula 2).

Founded in 1972 by Giampaolo Dallara, the company was established in Varano de' Melegari, a town in Northern Italy. Initially, Dallara focused on aerodynamic testing and engineering design for various forms of racing. The company’s early work involved the creation of specialized components and chassis designs for both cars and motorcycles.

In collaboration with teams like Peugeot and Rebellion Racing. Dallara’s LMP cars have seen success in endurance racing, though they are often overshadowed by manufacturers like Audi, Toyota, and Porsche in terms of overall victories.

Dallara has also supplied cars for the GP2 Series (now Formula 2), a stepping stone to Formula 1. The Dallara GP2/08 chassis, used from 2008 to 2017, played a significant role in the development of future F1 drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, and Valtteri Bottas.
