Oldsmobile was an iconic American automobile brand with a history dating back to the late 19th century. It was one of the oldest car manufacturers in the United States, known for producing a wide range of vehicles, from luxury cars to muscle cars, before its eventual discontinuation in the early 2000s.

The brand is remembered for its innovative engineering, bold design choices, and contributions to the American automotive industry.

Founded 1897, by Ransom E. Olds in Lansing, Michigan. The company was one of the earliest automobile manufacturers in the United States. Oldsmobile played a significant role in the development of the American car industry, and the brand’s engineering innovations helped shape the future of automobiles.

The Curved Dash Oldsmobile was a revolutionary vehicle for its time. It was the first car in the U.S. to be produced on an assembly line. Its introduction marked a significant milestone in automotive history, as it made automobiles more affordable and accessible to the general public.

The car was affordable at the time and was praised for its simplicity, efficiency, and ease of use. By the 1990s, Oldsmobile began to experience a decline in sales, partly due to increased competition from other GM divisions (like Chevrolet and Buick), as well as changing consumer tastes.

Despite efforts to modernize the brand and update its lineup with models like the Oldsmobile Aurora, Bravada, and Intrigue, Oldsmobile struggled to remain relevant in a rapidly changing automotive market.

In 2000, General Motors announced the decision to phase out the Oldsmobile brand, and production officially ended in 2004.
