Model Cars - Hyundai

Hyundai Motor Company is a South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer founded in 1967 by Chung Ju-yung. It is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world, known for producing a wide range of vehicles, including compact cars, sedans, SUVs, and electric vehicles.

Hyundai's reputation has evolved significantly from its early days, and it is now considered one of the most important global carmakers, combining affordability, reliability, and modern technological innovation. The company’s name, Hyundai, means “modernity” in Korean, and this reflected the company’s aim to bring modern vehicles to the South Korean market.

In 1968, Hyundai launched its first car, the Hyundai Cortina, in collaboration with Ford, which helped establish the company in the car manufacturing world. Hyundai’s first self-developed car was the Hyundai Pony, introduced in 1975.

In the 1990s, Hyundai expanded its product lineup to include more luxury vehicles, with the introduction of the Hyundai Sonata (a midsize sedan) and the Hyundai Elantra (a compact sedan). During this time, Hyundai also began to focus on improving the quality and reliability of its cars, marking the shift from being viewed as a budget brand to a company that offered well-built cars with modern features.

In the 2010s, Hyundai and its sister company, Kia Motors, formed a significant global automotive group, which together became the fifth-largest automaker in the world. Hyundai's acquisition of Kia helped strengthen its presence in markets worldwide, particularly in North America and Asia.
