Sydney Allard (1910–1966), a former race car driver and automotive engineer, founded Allard Motor Company in 1945 in London, England. Le Mans: Allard cars participated in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans during the 1950s, earning a reputation for their durability and performance. The Allard J2X competed in the race and was competitive against more established brands.

Allard cars raced in various sports car events in America and Europe, including the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) races, where they often performed well due to their performance-driven design. End of Production In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Allard’s success began to wane as larger manufacturers entered the high-performance market, and the company faced increasing competition.
