Alpine is a French automobile manufacturer with a rich motorsport heritage, particularly in Formula 1. It was originally founded as Société des Automobiles Alpine in 1955 by Jean Rédélé, with a focus on producing lightweight, high-performance sports cars.

From its inception, Alpine’s focus was on motorsport, particularly rallying and endurance racing. The company’s cars quickly earned a reputation for being competitive and well-engineered, which established Alpine as a key player in the performance car market.

In 1973, the Alpine brand was acquired by Renault.Renault provided the financial resources and engineering support necessary for Alpine to continue to develop its cars.The Alpine A110 achieved tremendous success in rallying, with notable wins in the Monte Carlo Rally and other prestigious events.

Its lightweight, agile design made it a formidable contender on winding, technical rally stages. Le Mans: Alpine also had success in endurance racing, especially at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the brand participated and earned recognition for its competitive vehicles. Formula 1 (F1): Alpine’s most significant return to motorsport came in 2021, when Renault F1 Team rebranded as Alpine F1 Team. This shift marked a move to further promote the Alpine brand, leveraging its legacy and expertise in motorsports.
