Model Cars - HPD
HPD (Honda Performance Development) is the motorsport division of Honda that focuses on designing, developing, and manufacturing racing engines, cars, and parts for various motorsport disciplines. HPD is responsible for Honda's involvement in IndyCar racing, endurance racing, and other high-performance motorsport series, playing a critical role in ensuring that Honda’s cars and engines perform at the highest levels of competition.
The Honda ARX-03 was a prototype race car developed by HPD to compete in endurance racing, notably in the American Le Mans Series. Powered by a Honda V8 engine, the ARX-03 was designed to compete in the LMP1 category and other endurance events.
The Honda NSX GT3 is another notable product developed by HPD for GT racing. This race version of the Honda NSX is designed for GT3-class racing, with a focus on speed, handling, and balance.
The Honda Civic Type R is a mainstay in touring car racing, and HPD has provided a variety of performance upgrades for the car in these series. From engine tuning to chassis modifications, HPD has helped the Civic maintain its dominance in this class of racing. HPD has also supported the Honda Civic in rallycross events like the Global RallyCross Championship (GRC). The Civic was modified with specialized suspension, all-wheel drive, and turbocharged engines to make it competitive in short-course racing on gravel and tarmac.
